November 11th, 2009

I was arrested in december 2007 for dwi but my lawyer took the case to the 6 month limit and the judge threw it out so i wasnt found guilty an it didnt go on my record so my question is do i have to say anything about it to a possible employer or should i not say nothing about it or what should i say if the employer asks me about my driving or arrest record?

Devin E, Last fall I got a DWI. Where I live a 0.08 is considered a drunk driver. I’m not sure what the limit is in Montana. Try calling a DWI lawyer for help. http://www.findaduilawyeronline.com

what is the advantage of hiring a lawyer vs taking a public defender for a dwi charge?

November 10th, 2009

If you can afford it, the state is going to require that you reimburse them for the cost of using the public defender.
A private lawyer is going to charge you about 10 times as much.

How bad is DWI ? you need to have a lawyer? Please opinions?

November 8th, 2009

I met this nice guy about 3 month ago, he is right now my boyfriend…but what do u think about this? he told me that about 4 years ago he got a DWI for drive and drinking, he said was just once, he made a big mistake, he went to a party and the police stop him and he got some beers…but he said that he needed a lawyer and it is true that for DWI you need a lawyer and is a misdeamanor offense..because the other day he was trying to complete an application for a civil service test and he said that one of those questions he has to answer YES…because dwi is not a minor traffic violation, is more than that? Is true? can somebody have the experience before with DWI? EXPLAIN TO ME please..Im not sure if he is hidden something or he is telling me the truth…is so bad one DWI or maybe he got more than one it is why he need a lawyer..???
Advice and opinions Thanks

The first DWI conviction in NY is a misdemeanor (you don’t say what state, so I’ll use mine for example) … the 2nd conviction comes in as a felony!

Yes, he should have a lawyer to help him with his case.

Yes, the conviction for DWI would have a negative effect on a civil service application.

Yes, just one DWI can have very big effects on your future!

Best DWI criminal lawyer in Williamson County, Georgetown, TX, wins or dismisses most cases?

October 28th, 2009

Defense Criminal Attorney for court date in Williamson County–Georgetown, TX Best at reducing charge /winning case? DWI with child under 15, refused breath test. Agreed to field sobriety-told that i suffer from severe degenrative arthsis in both feet. Found prescription drugs:hydrocodine, xanex, and adderrall–all of which I have current, legtimate, local specialists prescriptions. Of course failed test because of feet, handcuffed, arrested in front of son–son most distressed, officers not thoughtful toward child. Had small rear end bump to car in front of-no ingury–expired insurance.

glovett98, Call a professional, they should know the ins and out of Rhode Island law by heart. http://www.findaduilawyeronline.com

Should I get a lawyer for my DWI?

October 28th, 2009

I was recently arrested for 4th degree DWI. This is a first offense for me. I was pulled over for not having front plates on my car and was given a sobriety test which I failed. I blew a .11 and the legal limit is .08 in my state. I signed all of the papers that were given to me at the police station so this seems like a pretty open and shut case. would it benefit me to get a lawyer? I would hate to spend all that money just to find out that there is nothing that he can do for me.

Depending on what you signed at the police station it may be a closed case already. Did you sign a confession? I would say only talk to a lawyer to see if he can get some kind of deal that is lower than what you were charged with. Other than that I think you are pretty much done.

Can someone with a DWI still take the bar exam and get a job?

October 26th, 2009

What are the implications of a DWI on a lawyer’s future career prospects?

None. It will probably hold up your bar admission while the ethics panel investigates but it’s not a bar to admission. The bigger issue is that there’s a glut of lawyers and many can’t get any job at all. Moreover, a lot of law jobs are being outsourced to India and US corporations are setting up law departments in India.
