I need a DUI lawyer in Georgia?

November 24th, 2009

I need a lawyer for a DUI. My court date is Monday 4-7-2008. A cop followed me home from a bar and pulled me over. I had only 2 drinks and waited over an hour to leave. I was not drunk at all. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. But I cannot afford a lot of money. Please someone help me???
Thanks
Barb
My court date is Monday April 7, 2008. This is my first offense. I live in Houschton Ga, but I got pulled over in Jackson county

1. You do not want to represent yourself. The consequences are much too severe.
2. If you “refused” the test, you only have ten (10) days from the arrest date to seek an administrative hearing to rescind the license suspension.
3. It makes a difference what city/county arrested you. Some counties have a local bar association lawyer referral service.
4. Your initial appearance is only to enter a guily or not guilty plea. You should appear with or without a lawyer and enter a not guilty plea. Then you will have sufficient time to adequately interview and hire counsel.
5. You may be eligible for a court-appointed lawyer. You should be able to find out at your court date.

    Where are you in Georgia?
http://www.lawyers.com and http://www.findlaw.com has some searches.
You may be able to get free legal services through legal aids if you really don’t have much money. You can always plead your own case.
