Since launching this campaign in 1983, more than 68% of Americans exposed to the advertising have tried to prevent someone from driving drunk. In 1998, America experienced its lowest number of alcohol-related fatalities since the U.S. Department of Transportation began keeping records. Campaign taglines have included: “Drinking & Driving Can Kill A Friendship” and “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk.”

Those are not real …
Those are not real hands on the first two takes. Those are dummy hands. Look closely, you don’t see any wrinkles. They used dummy hands to hold glasses of beer. And then they used pressure hydraulics to make them crash while filiming. Then they edit the shot in slow motion.

I love this commercial! Me and my buddies actually did this when we got drunk! We smashed our glasses together..cut our hands up pretty good..Fun times!
