Would it be a good idea to get a lawyer or stick with a pulic defender in this situation?

December 5th, 2009

I am eligible to get a public defender but I am considering hiring a lawyer by borrowing money from a friend because I was arrested inside my house when the police were told they could not come in and I never drove the car, I was arrested because I was drunk and my car was left in the middle of the street by my friend and they came after me.

Did the cops print your steering wheel for prints? Even if they did your prints would be there because you drive the car everyday. Did the cops break into your home or did you leave the door open? DO NOT ever open the door if a cop knocks on it. FIRST RULE !!! If a cop wants to speak to you ever it is never good for you !!!! Any attorney will tell you this that is worth their weight in gold. The public defender I hate to say it isn’t going to be that good. There is no incentive in them being that good even though they mean well. They work for the state CLICK any ideas in your mind the people trying to convict you ??? If they were any good at being attorneys they would be in PRIVATE PRACTICE making the real money. They usually make between $ 36,000 and $ 50,000 dollars a year on salary and work long hours. I mean give them a break they don’t get paid much more than a teacher is they are lucky so don’t expect to get great representation. Especially since their work load is usually loaded down with a huge backlog. Sometimes you get appointed a great attorney whom is obligated by the court to do some public service but these guys really don’t have time for you. I would borrow the money in good faith and repay it to your friend. Seems like he or she really cares about you. I am sure a reputable attorney can get you off this charge or do a plea bargin with the District Attorney before it even has to go to the docket. Most D.A.’s just want a guarantee of some sort even if it is a little community service so that you know NOT TO EVER DRIVE DRUNK. They do it so that you won’t go and kill someone. Just make sure you get deferred adjudication say for 3 to 6 months. If you don’t do anything wrong in that period of time it probably won’t go on your record but I don’t know what state you live in. If you get a DWI it will surely ruin your future in the short run if not forever depending on your career track and responsibilites at work. GOOD LUCK !!!! GET A GREAT ATTORNEY !!!!

Why Are People Making Sarah Palin Out As The Bad One?

December 2nd, 2009

She was only trying to protect people getting that officer fired- He is the one that tazered a TEN YEAR Old , he is the one that was drunk driving on the job? Democrats have 30 lawyers in Alaska trying to manipulate people and turn it around like Palin was the bad one? What is wrong with people? That POLICE Officer is the criminal- he threated to kill people!

Because she is the one who ABUSED her power! She is the damn governor! She could have proceeded in a manner where she did not abuse her power. If this officer was so bad, then another route would have worked. She FAILED to properly do her job! That is why she IS the bad one. If she were VP, would she abuse her power? She just may. She already made an unconstitutional comment at the VP debate. She agreed with Cheney that the power of the VP should reside within both the executive and legislative branches. It is only an executive branch position. The only legislative power she has is the deciding vote in the senate if there is a tie. She is an abuser of power. And she has poor judgment. She IS the bad one!

What happens if you get into drunk drive car accident?

November 29th, 2009

I made a big mistake and drove home drunk last night. I was driving my car and I had one passenger in the car with me. I don’t know how it happen but my car drove over a big curve and it was not drivable. Someone came and called the cops and ambulance came. Me and friend both were carried out by ambulance and went to the hospital. I signed a paper to do blood test for alcohol level. My friend was hurt and had to get some stitch on his head. I stayed over night at the hospital and me and my friend were released. Cops gave me 4 tickets for
- Driving while impaired by Alcohol
- Driving under influence of Alcohol
- Driving under influence of Alcohol Per Se
- Failure to control speed to avoid collision
also the document that I signed for blood test.

I am also in military and I am about to deploy in Aug. My friend just came back from Iraq also in military. Would that help in any case?

I have USAA auto insurance but I couldn’t find their policy on their website.

Do I need a lawyer?
Will my insurance cover for the car?
It is my first accident or any traffic violation while under influence.
I need some advice.

dont know much about this but the best advice is to get yourself a good lawyer right away seeing as they have proof that you were under the influence.. good luck

DUI Lawyer / Attorney in Massachusetts — Chistopher Uhl

November 26th, 2009

The Law Offices of Christopher Uhl

http://www.uhllaw.com

You just hear those words and you begin to fear for yourself and your family members. Even the drunk drivers fear the words “Drunk Driving” because today it is a real crime with stiff penalties upon conviction. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has the political clout to change the laws. Beware! Do not drive between the hours of 11PM and 3AM because this is when over ninety-percent of the offenders are arrested.

In America you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty because this is the law of our forefathers. Today, the media depicts the accused as guilty until proven innocent. This is done with drunk driving, the crime of the time. The crime is not really drunk driving or driving while drinking. The crime is operating under the influence, OUI. A person does not have to be drunk, but unable to operate their vehicle safely if required to do so after consuming some amount of alcohol. This is what the judge tells the jury every day all across Massachusetts.

Whats the best plea bargaining that can happen in a Michigan OUI charge?

November 24th, 2009

Does the lawyer basically know what will happen or what not? How does plea bargaining in a drunk driving case work? I hear it all depends upon the facts about your case. How much the lawyer can defend your constitutional rights.

A OUI charge?

Just say “NON”!
